The Qipao (Cheongsam)
A fitted, sleeveless black qipao embroidered with gold dragon motifs, finished with a high mandarin collar, frog-button closure and a thigh-high side slit. Born in 1920s Shanghai, the cheongsam reworked a loose Manchu robe into the body-skimming column we know today — a modern, above-the-knee reading of a century-old classic.
